Tejas Star Book Awards
The Tejas Star Book Award was created by the Region 1 Library Advisory Committee to promote reading in general and for readers to discover the cognitive and economic benefits of bilingualism and multilingualism. All the children of Texas have the opportunity to select their favorite book from the Tejas Star list during the 2008-2000 academic year. Participation for all children is encouraged, not just English language learners.

Presented from an author’s viewpoint, this presentation will address the role librarians play in connecting kids to authors and how to insure a successful visit.
